
Nueva Ecija Medical Center Inc. (NEMC) joyfully celebrated the 68th Philippine Nurses Week Culmination last October 30, 2025, with a series of meaningful and fun-filled activities led by the Nursing Service Department, headed by Ms. Felomena B. Pascual, Chief Nurse.
Anchored on this year’s theme, “Innovate, Advocate, Transform: The Nurses’ Blueprint for a Changing World,” Ms. Pascual emphasized in her message the crucial role of nurses as advocates of innovation and transformation in an ever-evolving healthcare environment.
The celebration commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Devine Marco Pangilinan, SSS, offering gratitude for the unwavering dedication and compassion of nurses who continuously serve with excellence.

Following the mass, a momentous inauguration and blessing took place for the newly opened ward station, which adds 26 beds to NEMC’s current capacity further strengthening the hospital’s commitment to providing quality healthcare for more patients. Also included in the ceremony was the blessing of the new additional ambulance, a significant addition to the hospital’s emergency response capability.
The event was graced by Dr. Leonardo Gonzales, President and CEO of NEMC, together with his wife, Dr. Araceli Gonzales, Vice President of NEMC. Dr. Leonardo Gonzales shared an inspirational message during the Nurses Week program, commending the nurses for their dedication, resilience, and compassion in patient care.

Adding excitement to the celebration, the much-awaited interactive game show “Ang Tanong” brought laughter and friendly competition among the nursing staff. Representatives from each department showcased their wit and teamwork, with the final round featuring Team 3rd South Station (led by Ms. Lexly Pascual and Mr. John Paul Lising) and Team Supervisors (led by Ms. Arminda Jose and Ms. Leny Pia). After an exciting showdown, Team 3rd South Station emerged victorious with a 3–0score, earning the title of Overall Champion.

Following the games was the Best Dressed Contest with the theme “Nurses Styled in Denim.” The winners were Mr. Andrew Del Rosario from the Outpatient Department (OPD) and Mr. Christian Marr from the 5th South Station, both impressing the crowd with their stylish and confident looks.

To further heighten the excitement, the event concluded with a Bingo Bonanza, offering large cash prizes. Winners of the ₱7,000 prizes from the first draw were Mr. Arnold Fernandez (OR Department), Mr. Andrew Del Rosario (OPD Department), and Ms. Arminda Jose. The second draw winners were Ms. Charmaine Lumibao (Nursing Office) and Ms. Germelyn Reyes (OR Department). The grand winners, taking home₱15,000, were Mr. Marco Felipe (Dialysis Department), Ms. Cindy Rivera (3rdNorth Station), and Ms. Jeely Gail Recuenco (5th North Station).
Before heading home, each department received a grocery package, and all nurses were given one sack of rice a heartfelt token of appreciation for their dedication and service, distributed by the Human Resource Department.
The 68th Philippine Nurses Week Culmination was successfully organized by the Human Resource and Organization Development Division in collaboration with the Nursing Service Department, serving as a fitting tribute to the heart of healthcare our nurses who continue to innovate, advocate, and transform lives every day.
